Starker Schneefall auf der Alpensüdseite. 

Zwischen Sonntagabend und Dienstagmorgen werden im Tessin und Misox oberhalb von etwa 800 Metern 10 bis 20 cm, oberhalb von 1200 Metern 30 bis 40 cm, oberhalb von 1500 Metern lokal bis zu 50 cm Neuschnee erwartet.

Aktuelle Situation

Ein Tiefdruckgebiet mit Zentrum über der Bretagne zieht langsam nach Südosten und erreicht am Dienstag das westliche Mittelmeer. Dies führt am Alpensüdhang zu einer Staulage. Bis Montagabend fällt der Niederschlag in einer relativ kühlen Luftmasse, in der Folge fliesst aus Südosten zunehmend mildere Luft ein.

Bis am Montagmorgen lag die Schneefallgrenze bei 700 bis 800 Meter. Vom Sonntagmorgen bis am Montagmorgen fielen oberhalb von 1100 Metern 10 bis 25 cm, oberhalb von 800 Meter 1 bis 10 cm Neuschnee.

Prognose

Vom Montagmittag bis Montagabend fallen die intensivsten Niederschläge, wobei die Schneefallgrenze im Nordtessin und Misox auf 500 bis 600 Meter sinken kann. Die Schneefallgrenze steigt in der Nacht auf Dienstag aus Südosten allmählich auf 1000 bis 1300 Meter, am Dienstagnachmittag schliesslich auf 1400 bis 1700 Meter an.

Zwischen Montagmorgen und Dienstagmorgen werden folgende Neuschneemengen erwartet: oberhalb von 1200 Metern 15 bis 25 cm, oberhalb 1000 Metern 10 bis 20 cm, oberhalb von 800 Metern 5 bis 15 cm. In Tallagen im Nordtessin und Misox fallen mit intensivem Niederschlag einige Zentimeter Nassschnee.

Die Niederschläge halten bis am Mittwochmorgen an, da die Schneefallgrenze ansteigt läuft die Stufe 3 Warnung nur bis Dienstagmorgen.
